A message from the Chairman
Welcome to the website of LMUG, especially to those visiting for the first time. First, a little about what we are, how we are organised and what we seek to achieve. Founded in 1986, the London Macintosh User Group (LMUG) is a non-commercial, voluntary organisation which seeks to bring together Apple Macintosh computer enthusiasts via the Internet and through regular meetings in Central London. Our activities are organised by an elected Committee chosen from among members each year under the provisions of a formally adopted constitution. Our principal aim is to promote the coming together of Mac users for the sharing of news, information, hints and tips, and the demonstration of the most recent Mac compatible software and hardware.
No matter if you are a complete novice or a hoary guru, by joining LMUG you will have the opportunity to tap a rich source of information held by individual members whose collective knowledge and expertise has an extremely wide range-especially useful if you are working on your computer alone, struggling with the intricacies of newly acquired software or frustrated by hardware that does not quite behave as it should. Our monthly meetings usually begin with a Q&A session, followed either by a talk by an invited speaker or group discussions among LMUG members. A raffle rounds-off the evenings and there is ample opportunity for social chit-chat over a drink - we meet in a London pub. Our technical events are
tempered by two entirely social meetings; a garden party in the summer and a Christmas party. All activities are publicised in our monthly newsletter SoundByte which also carries up-to-date news about the world of Mac
computers.
If you have an interest in Mac computers, then why not join LMUG and meet others who share your interest.
