Q. Just bought a Mac and can't get it
connected to the Internet through our Virgin net USB
cable modem. It works with the PC through.
A. Purchase a router that uses Ethernet. USB routers work poorly with Mac OS X. We recommend Netgear. They cost around £40-50 pounds, but if this is a Virgin Cable box, you might need a different box, again Ethernet is the key. Tell Virgin that you have a Mac, and hopefully they may offer an appropriate ethernet box.

Q. A fews ago I had to back up the Mac. I started using the Mac Mini and a few days ago the Mac told me I was using 95% of me hard drive. I looked and found 'previous system'. I started deleting selectively, can I trash the whole lot?
A. Yes!
Q. I have Final Cut Express HD on the PowerBook and want to use it on my Intel. I looked at the upgrade it was about £70. Will the upgrade run the whole version as upgraded on both machines.
A. I would have thought so, the Intel version works on PowerPC. It completely replaces the old version.
Q. I use Parallels on a MacBook with my inherited PC stuff. But when I get a Word atachment it want to open Word v.X
A. Drag the Microsoft Office Test Drive folder to the trash and empty the trash.
