We look forwards to seeing as many of you in person as possible!

Get ready for iOS27

Siri

Next month iOS27 will be released and for many Apple Users, the biggest feature will be the revamped Siri. As mentioned last month, it appears that Apple has actually delivered some magic with this reboot. The phone knows you and can answer questions about what’s on your phone (and more). This could be the start of a transformation (for the rest of us). Geeky Gadgets has some suggestions here to make sure your phone is ready to take full advantage of these new abilities when iOS27 launches.

Has Siri been s-AI-ved at the last moment?

It is always best to wait for the final released product, but some reviewers of the Siri betas have taken one look and made a verdict. Premature? Maybe. I say let’s wait to see how it works when we’re all using it.

The AI nightmare has begun

Stop right there AI! The news this month from these other AIs is scary. Maybe it was a configuration error, but the AIs were asked to do something, and they autonomously broke out of their testing environments, to achieve their task, using any means necessary including hacking other companies! What the rogue AI? Have look at the details below:

And it’s not just 1 rogue AI, it’s several others. One of the biggest promoters of AI competition has noticed. Let’s hope Apple has built the necessary guard rails into the new Siri to avoid this pitfall and others, like this very worrying issue affecting Microsoft.

Has Samsung stolen a march on Apple?

Anyone reading Apple rumour sites knows there’s a passport-sized phone in Apple’s labs. Literally take out our passport, and open it. How does it feel in your hand. This might be the future form factor for high end phones. That means folding, but folding phones aren’t new. Something will have changed for Apple to make one, and the rumour is that they have a special hinge with no ugly crease when unfolded (the bane of folding phones).

Soundbyte does not dabble in scurrilous rumours. But we need to know this one in order to understand what Samsung has just introduced. Their latest folding phone apparently matches the rumoured Apple form factor (passport) perfectly. And reviewers…love it.

Maybe this is good news for Apple, but even Apple users will likely experience a sticker shock at the price. Most of us will love it vicariously, so here’s a look at what sort of thing we’re missing:

Stay cool folks and see you next month!
